Eggs and a guest
« on: May 01, 2006, 05:15:14 AM »
My Russian, who I bought in 2000, surprised me by laying at least 4 eggs probably Thursday or Friday. By the time I saw them, we had already had a couple of cool nights and a rain, so I am wondering if there is any chance for survival and if I should just leave them and let nature take it's course or move them or what? Also, our neighbor brought over a Box Turtle yesterday that her dog was after. is it OK to put this turt in with my two Russians? My torts have been with me for 4 and 6 years and my male is quite a bit smaller than my big girl. This turt is the same size as my male tort!!!

Hi Slinky
Congratulations on the eggs!!

I would incubate them.

Box turtles should not be kept with russian torts. Their needs are very different.
