Before moving to a condo about a year ago, I had a great place for tortoises. Juneau, Alaska is not a good place for tortoises because of the long winters and cool summers. The warmest I have ever seen it was about 92F. We had a 2 story, four bedroom home with a large back yard with plantain and dandelion plants. I never used any fertilizer, weed or moss killer on the lawn as long as we lived there(25 years.) Could have setup a UV lamp and shelter outside for cool weather in the summer as well as a garden even here in Juneau. The house had two rooms upstairs that I could have made 10'X10' tortoise tables in each. Trouble is I was interested in aquariums at the time. No room in the condo unfortunately. Darn!
