It's making sense now
« on: May 07, 2010, 04:28:12 AM »
For the last couple of weeks, Boris has been bobbing his head while looking past me.  I was a bit worried about him.  Thought about taking him to the vet if he continued with his behavior.  Well, sure enough, he tried to mate with Soyna yesterday.  Soyna refused his advances.  I don't know if he actually got her because I was on my way out to work.  All I can say is that he was pretty bent on doing his deed.  She's actually relaxing now.  He's going after her.  She does not care.  She's basking.  I am just trying my darnest to keep my kitten interested in her toys.  She heard them and she thinks they are playing and she wants to play too.

I am just wondering IF she does lay eggs, should I leave them in the aquarium or should I move them?  The substrate in the aquarium is anywhere from 6 to 8 inches deep.  Is that deep enough for her to lay them? What do I do with the eggs?

Thank you,
Beth

Check out the breeding section on this site for the Breeding info first. It has a lot of good basic info on how to put the eggs into the incubator, temp, etc.

Hah ha...it's funny how they got your kitten interested. Hope you get some eggs!

It's also funny because the first time my adult cat, Mooch, heard Boris squeal, she jumped 10 feet into the air, so frightened.  Then she proceeded to give him a dirty look, as if to say, "Hey you two!  Quiet it down and get a room!"  My kitten still thinks they are playing.

I am thinking about incubating any eggs and getting a second enclosure for any hatchlings.
