I'm glad that Scuttle's journey had a happy ending!  He must have felt very much at ease to begin eating right away, and certainly looks relaxed and comfortable napping under his lamp.   He's a very handsome fellow!  Hopefully the vet will give him a clean bill of health.  Don't forget to take a stool sample along to the appointment.

BTW, what kind of snakes do you have?

The other babies that own me are a 9 year old pomeranian/mini eskie dog (had him since a pup, went blind from an illness called SARDS - sudden acquired retinal disfunction), a 2 1/2 year old hog island boa, a 2 1/2 year old nicaraguan boa, a 5 1/2 year old childrens python and an adult (age unknown) ball python....all female snakes. I was really excited about scuttle because he is a male so it kind of helps balance the ratio's better - not that I chose any based on sex - it just happened that way. My boa's are from a breeder and the python's are both adopted from a rescue shelter. I'm at the beck and call of all of them but I wouldn't want it any other way  :)

Aww, you have a "special needs" dog!  What a nice group.  I don't have any snakes, but I'm fascinated by them.  I love looking at the pictures of all the different species in Reptiles magazine...so many beautiful colors and patterns.  I like to watch them move; they're so graceful.  It's great that you got your pythons from a rescue shelter.  Giving an animal a second chance for a happy life is a wonderful thing!

Something tells me that Scuttle will fit into your family just fine.  The time and effort we put into our pets is repaid many times over by the pleasure they give us!  :)

So cute!  He must already be getting comfortable in his new surroundings because his head and legs are all stretched out

Thank you all for the compliments. I'm absolutely inlove!!! I could watch him for hours hopelessly entertained by him just being himself.

Another good note - I took in a fecal sample to the vet yesterday and it came back negative for parasites. I still want the vet to do a visual check up since I'm still new at caring for a tortoise.

I just can't get over how much character these little guys have  :D. I couldn't help to changed my avatar to a picture of his bum as he was snoozing - it was kind of cute the way he stretched his legs out
