Baxter, where on the west coast do you live? Cali? I would love to meet other russian owners, could you imagine a tort play date?

Rassy, Yes I live in Southern California near Six Flags Magic Mountain, if you know where that is...about 35 miles north of L.A.
Yes a play date for the torts would be fun, I wonder if they would fight or get along, lol.

My husband grew up in Camarillo - are you near there at all? (I'm in Phoenix)
It would be interesting to see how all the torts would react for a play date! We'd probably have to put them in neutral territory so none of the males would get defensive (do they do that???)

I fly over Camarillo quite often, my husband's taking flying lessons and I always go with him. We live about 45 min. away from there (driving).
I've heard they can be territorial, and I think my Baxter is, he's not thrilled about my new tort being in his tort table. The tort table is divided with a screened wood frame.

WEll, he didn't like the car ride. The day we left I turned the light on early and fed him right before we left (by about an hour) and he still spent the first two hours trying to escape. The day we came back we turned the light on at the normal time and fed him early and he only spent the first hour trying to get out, then slept and then started getting upset the last half an hour. torts! He didn't have a problem eating at all. I'm actually convinced my tortoise is a hoover. Today he hasn't peeped out of his cave at all... But I'm sure once I get food he will come running.

Ahhh, poor little baby. You might want to try the small box method with towels under him and covering him. And make it dark for him. That's good he's eating though...that little hoover
