Aloe is safe for torts and many love it. However it does have a mild laxative effect so I wouldn't feed it regularly.

I have no idea why it would be label as not for consumption...unles its because of the pesticides and fertilzers that were used

Ok thanks for that, maybe it is because of pesticides, i think i`ll leave it a long while before attempting another feed.  ;)

AquamanX do you have any links for the information about aloe and diabetes. My partner is diabetic on both injections and tablets and would love to find out more. Thanks in advance Susan  :)

Susan, with ref to Aloe Vera for us to use - Forever Living products (go on net) and Holland and Barratt (much cheaper than Forever living) do Aloe Vera Juice to drink - its actually quite nice and my dad takes it to help his diabetes as his ffirnd suggested ho do so - as for me, I take it for good health and feel great.

Jensen (my tort) does like the aloe leaves although will olny chose to eat them occasionally - I grow them for use as hand lotion so I try him on a bit every week or so.
