Broken Beak
« on: September 30, 2018, 03:32:28 AM »
I think part of my tortoise's beak is broken on his right side.  It doesn't seem to interfere with his eating but was wondering if I should take him to the vet?  Is there anything that I can do to help?

Here are some pictures:

The beak isn't broken, its very overgrown. It needs to be trimmed.

I wanted to post a follow up, I went to the vet to get his beak trimmed.  It still looks overgrown but my guess is you have to do it parts at a time. I noticed that the large scale where his nostril is looks slightly disconnected on the side of the beak that was partly damaged.  It is not loose but was wondering if I should bring him in to the vet?
